Curtis D. "Skip" Kelley Sr., 73, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

He was born May 16, 1935, in Blodgett, Mo., son of Curtis A. and Velma Mae Watson Kelley. He and June Linebarger were married Nov. 6, 1955, in Jackson.

Kelley was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School. During his early career, he served several years in the U.S. Army Reserve and worked at the former Falstaff distributorship in Cape Girardeau and briefly as a plumber for his father-in-law. He then worked 37 years for the former Missouri Utilities, which was later purchased by AmerenUE, and later retired as an electrical supervisor for the Cape Girardeau service area.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cindy Kelley of Cape Girardeau; four sons, Curtis D. "Skipper" Kelley Jr., Chris L. Kelley and Sean G. Kelley of Cape Girardeau, Jeffrey Kelley of Jackson; a brother, Fred Kelley of Cape Girardeau; 14 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Douglas Breite officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
