The funeral for Harry Curtis Carbaugh Jr. of Scott City will be held at 2 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. The Rev. Mark Carbaugh will officiate. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery at Scott City.

Friends may call at the chapel from 9 a.m. until time of service.

Carbaugh, 58, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, at his home.

He was born Nov. 23, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, son of Harry Curtis and Louise LeTempt Carbaugh Sr. He and Patricia Ann Bledsoe Farrow were married Dec. 19, 1978, at Jackson.

Carbaugh first worked at Cape Regional and St. Louis Lambert airports, and was an officer with Cape Girardeau Police Department from 1966 to 1969. He moved to Alaska in 1969 and was a tower operator at Prudhoe Bay, and then worked for A.R.T. He was instrumental in starting the first United Parcel Service in Alaska. Carbaugh retired in 1991 and moved back to Scott City.

He attended Christian Faith Fellowship in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Trenton and Trevor Carbaugh of Anchorage, Alaska, Sheldon Carbaugh of Austin, Texas; two stepsons, Anthony Farrow of Scott City, Timothy Farrow of Cape Girardeau; two stepdaughters, Tammy Baremore of Jackson and Tina Roberts of Scott City.

Also surviving is his mother of Jefferson City, Mo.; a brother, Ted Carbaugh of Jackson; three sisters, Harriet Webb and Rebecca DeBrodie of Jefferson City, Ruth Ann McKinley of Jackson; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.
