GRASSY -- Courtland C. Miller, 87, of Grassy died Thursday, June 5, 1997, at Bond Nursing Care Center in Marble Hill.
He was born Jan. 15, 1910, at Grassy, son of John L. and Rhodie A. Jackson Miller. He and Vera M. Newell were married Dec. 24, 1930. She died Sept. 3, 1994.
Miller retired from highway construction. He had also been in the sawmill business and farmed many years. He was a member of Friendship General Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, C.D. Miller of Festus, Jerry Miller of Garden City, Kan.; a daughter, Patricia Dailey of Glen Allen; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and a grandson.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4-8 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gene Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Grassy Cemetery.
