CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Cornelius Paul Rolwing, 90, of Charleston died Thursday, June 16, 2011, at Charleston Manor.

He was born Oct. 23, 1920, in the Texas Bend community of Mississippi County, to the late Paul Lawrence and Elizabeth Margaret Wessels Rolwing.

He had lived in Texas Bend and Charleston his entire life. He was a graduate of St. Henry Catholic High School. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, a lifetime charter member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 3282, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4294 and Burtonwood Association.

An electrician by trade, he served his loyal customers more than 60 years as Rolwing Electric Co.

He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps, serving in World War II.

He and Dorothy Catherine Halter were married Feb. 25, 1946.

Survivors include his wife; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Mary Ann Rolwing of Cleveland, Mo., Don and Brenda Rolwing of Sikeston, Mo., Phil and Candy Rolwing of East Prairie, Mo.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Linda and Ronnie Estes of Charleston, Karen and Omer Clark of Bertrand, Mo., Debbie Rolwing of Charleston; a son-in-law, Dave Seyer of Jackson; two brothers, Monsignor Richard Rolwing of Cape Girardeau, Bob and Joyce Rolwing of Charleston; a sister, Mary and Bill Belviy of New Albany, Ind.; a sister-in-law, Mary Jo Rolwing of Charleston; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Rolwing Seyer; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Albert Rolwing and Herman and Helen Rolwing; and two grandsons, William Rolwing and Derek Estes.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. A prayer service will be held at 7.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Henry Church. Monsignor Richard Rolwing of Cape Girardeau will serve as celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery near Charleston, with full military honors provided by Missouri Military Honors Program.

Pallbearers will be Paul Estes, Josh Tyson, Codi Rolwing, Jason Estes, J. Stortz and Larry Rolwing.

Memorials may be made to St. Henry Catholic School, 306 Court Street, Charleston, MO 63834; or the charity of donors choice.
