SIKESTON -- Corda Stella Griffin, 101, of Sikeston, died Sunday, March 7, 1993, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.

She was born March 31, 1891, in Walker County, Ala., daughter of Thomas and Evelyn Johnson Atteberry.

She was a resident of Vanduser and Sikeston for most of her life. She was member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Alabama.

On Dec. 27, 1908, she married W.J. Griffin, in Walker County, Ala. He died Feb. 20, 1959.

Survivors include two sons, Norman Griffin of Vanduser, Bond Griffin of Bloomfield; two daughters, Bernice Eason of Sikeston, Evelyn Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau; a grandson raised in the home, Larry Harshbarger of Memphis, Tenn.; a brother, Gene Atteberry of Grassy, Mo.; a sister, Wilma Smith of Napa, Calif.; 24 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sons, a daughter, a grandson, six great-grandchildren, five brothers and five sisters.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Miles White, pastor of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Cape Girardeau, officiating.

Burial will follow in New Morley Cemetery in Morley.
