Cora Thorne

CHAFFEE, Mo. — Cora Jane Thorne, 93, of Chaffee died April 4, 2008, at Chaffee Nursing Center.

She was born April 18, 1914, at Daisy, Mo., daughter of George Franklin Hosey and Arlena Elizabeth White Rhyne. She and the Rev. Luther Edward Thorne were married July 26, 1933. He died April 20, 2004.

Thorne was a self-employed, retired child-care worker. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Chaffee and the church's ladies auxiliary.

Survivors include a son, Billy Thorne Sr. of Chaffee; a daughter, Annadell Barlow of Chaffee; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.

Friends may call at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Victor Hodge officiating.

Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.
