Cora Marie Lindsay, 88, 6121 State Highway 74, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 1997, at Chateau Girardeau.

She was born Nov. 21, 1908, at Millersville, daughter of James Leo and Emma Mae Ervin Slinkard. She and Rufus W. Lindsay were married April 7, 1928, at Jackson. She died Feb. 23, 1992.

Lindsay was a member of Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women, Order of Eastern Star, and VFW Auxiliary.

She moved to Cape Girardeau in 1924 from Millersville.

Survivors include two sons, William Lindsay of Matthews, Kenneth Lindsay of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Joyce Clifton of Jackson, Judith Smith of Carthage, Ill.; two brothers, Howard Slinkard of Poplar Bluff, Norman Slinkard of Springfield; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Friday.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hobbs Chapel, with the Rev. David Griffin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
