JACKSON, Mo. -- Cora M. Huffman, 88, of Jackson and formerly of Whitewater, Mo., died Friday, May 18, 2001, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 19, 1913, at Whitewater, daughter of George W. and Emma Lee Hahn Gloth. She and Roby Williams were married in 1934. He died in 1969. She and Clarence Huffman were married in 1973. He died in 1995.
Huffman was a lifetime member of Whitewater Methodist Church and a member of its women's organization. She was previously employed at the Whitewater Post Office and had worked at the former Merritt Insurance Co. in Cape Girardeau. She was the former treasurer of Passover Cemetery near Whitewater and also a member of the Order of Eastern Star at Whitewater, where she was a Past Worthy Matron and had held other offices. She was also a member of the Eastside Homemakers Club in Jackson.
Survivors include a sister, Ruby "Vi" Bono of St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers, two sisters, two half brothers, and one half sister.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson after 4 p.m. today. An Eastern Star service will be at 7 p.m.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Tom Zych will officiate, with burial in Bollinger County Memorial Cemetery near Marble Hill, Mo.
