No one knew her but to love her, no one mentioned her name only in praise. Loving mother, devoted grandmother.

Constance Robb Blattner, 81, of Jackson, died Saturday, July 3, 2010, at her home in Jackson.

She was born June 4, 1929, in Detroit, to Clive R. and Opal Jewel Daubs Robb. She and Donald Kies Blattner, who preceded her in death, were married March 9, 1948, at Cape Girardeau.

Constance belonged to the First Baptist Church and was a former member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ for many years, a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, Ladies VFW Auxiliary 3838, Covenant Prayer Group, Bible Study Group, Hannah Class, Bootheel Regional Art Guild, Visual Arts Co-op, Nursing Home Ombudsman and was very active with the Jamaican Christian Medical Mission.

Survivors include two sons, Joe Robb Blattner and Chris (Karen) Blattner, both of Jackson; a daughter, Dorinda Lynn (Terry) Abbott of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Terrell (Tommye) Robb of Carbondale, Ill.; a sister, Willa Stanford of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, Donald Blattner of Jackson, Brooke Griffith of Cape Girardeau and Stephanie (Rick) Vines of Cape Girardeau; and three great-grandchildren, Eli and Victoria Vines and Kailee Griffith, all of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel with the Rev. Mike Shupert and the Rev. David Schaffner officiating. Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to First Baptist Church of Cape Girardeau, the American Cancer Society at 106 S. Farrar Drive, Suite 104 Cape Girardeau, MO 63701 or the Jamaican Christian Medical Mission Fund.
