MARQUAND, Mo. -- Cody Robert Brown passed away Saturday, April 11 2020, at his home in Marquand, with his family.
He was born Oct. 28, 1940, in Cape Girardeau to Coda Raymond and June Lane Brown. On Feb. 13, 1960, Cody was married to Geneva Sullinger. They celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Cody was a general contractor and was active at Church of God in Chaffee, Missouri, as a deacon and faithful member for 48 years.
Besides his spouse, Geneva Brown, and brother, Michael Brown, he is survived by daughters, Lisa (Mitch) Dooley of Jackson and Jill (Luis) Ortiz of Marquand; son, Shannon (Jenifer) Brown of Moon Township, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Andrew Dooley, Daniel (Katilyn) Dooley, Cody (Ashley) Williams, Dillon Williams, Opal Ortiz and Trenton, Kristian and Peyton Brown; and great-grandchildren, Averie, Carter and Lilly Dooley and Ezekiel and Jocelyn Dooley.
Cody was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and three brothers.
Visitation will be today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee for children and grandchildren only, followed by a private burial at Fairview Cemetery in Advance, Missouri.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice, local food bank or Southeast Hospice.
A celebration of life will be held for family, friends and church family at a later date.
