Clyde Melvin Vaughn, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, April 15, 2007, at the Lutheran Home. He was born April 8, 1929, in Mound City, Ill., son of Joyce Roosevelt and Florence Marie Marrs Vaughn. Vaughn served in the U.S. Army. He worked for Kelley Equipment and Construction Co. more than 45 years, was a member of and worked for Craftsman Union 10 years. Clyde Melvin Vaughn, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, April 15, 2007, at the Lutheran Home.

He was born April 8, 1929, in Mound City, Ill., son of Joyce Roosevelt and Florence Marie Marrs Vaughn.

Vaughn served in the U.S. Army.

He worked for Kelley Equipment and Construction Co. more than 45 years, was a member of and worked for Craftsman Union 10 years. He moved from Carbondale to Cape Girardeau in 1962. He was a member of the Church of God.

Survivors include three sisters, Joy Winn of Hersch Busch, Ill., Pat Moore and Della Grimes of Herrin, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Kitchen officiating. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
