Thornton, 75, died Thursday, April 11, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 23, 1921, in Cape Girardeau, son of Robert and Oma Crader Thornton.

Thornton had worked at Emerson Electric and McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis.

Survivors include an aunt, Freda Rhodes of Oran.
