CLYDE STANLEY `BUD' PEARCE

EAST CAPE GIRARDEAU, Ill. -- Clyde Stanley "Bud" Pearce, 74, of East Cape Girardeau died Sunday, July 23, 1995, at his home.

He was born Nov. 21, 1920, at Gale, Ill., the son of David Clyde and Helen Callans Pearce. He and Bobbie Wilson were married March 11, 1944, at Blytheville, Ark.

Pearce was a businessman for many years. In 1946, he began operating the Purple Crackle Club. He later worked in construction and built several subdivisions in the East Cape area.

He was a member of the Elks Club in Cairo and donated land for the East Cape Community Building.

He also served as a member of the McClure-East Cape Water District board, Delta Regional Planning Commission of Pulaski and Alexander counties and the Shawnee High School Board.

Survivors include his wife, a son, David W. Pearce, and a sister Mary Waterman, all of East Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a stepmother, and a brother.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel in Cape Girardeau, where funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Raymond Oxford and the Rev. Clyde Choate will officiate, and burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery in McClure.
