MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Clyde Wilford Sneed Jr., 82, of Creve Coeur, Mo., formerly of Marble Hill, died Sunday, March 23, 2008, at his home.

He was born July 19, 1925, in Arkansas, son of Clyde and Avis Crain Sneed. He and Dickie Watson were married Sept. 14, 1966, in St. Louis.

Sneed was a millwright at Chrysler in Fenton, Mo. He was a member of Marble Hill United Methodist Church.

He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II and served 25 years with the Merchant Marines.

Survivors include a son, Tim Dees of Creve Coeur; three daughters, Joyce Marshall of Omaha, Neb., Sue Brunner of Hot Springs, Ark., Kay Mill of Natchez, Miss.; a brother, Larry Sneed of Dexter, Mo.; two sisters, Rosemary Sneed of Florida, Kay Sneed of Missouri; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Marble Hill United Methodist Church. The Rev. Michael Kelpe will officiate.
