SCOTT CITY -- Clyde P. Frey, 88, of Scott City, died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 1994, at the home of a son in Secor, Ill. He was born Oct. 1, 1905, in Bonne Terre, son of George and Frances Bouchard Frey. SCOTT CITY -- Clyde P. Frey, 88, of Scott City, died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 1994, at the home of a son in Secor, Ill.

He was born Oct. 1, 1905, in Bonne Terre, son of George and Frances Bouchard Frey. He first married Georgie L. Montgomery Nov. 17, 1938, at Charleston. She died Nov. 17, 1976. He later married Bertha Wheeler.

Frey had worked at John Deere Foundry in East Moline, Ill., and had owned and operated a shoe repair service in Galva and Seaton, Ill. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Scott City. He was a former member of Grace United Methodist Church and its Methodist Men's Class in Galva.

Survivors include his wife; a son, James Frey of Secor; three daughters, Janis Khatibi of Issaquah, Wash., Judy Hanson and Brenda Dennison of Galva; a brother, Stanford Frey of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Gladys Mader of Belleville, Ill., Edith Dumay of Sikeston; a stepdaughter, Norma Foy of Affton; three stepsons, Monroe Wheeler of Hamilton, Ala., Don Wheeler of Cape Girardeau, Benny Wheeler of Scott City; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; 14 great-stepgrandchildren, and a great-great-stepgrandchild.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, a sister, a granddaughter, two great-grandchildren and a stepgrandson.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Rux-Schuster Funeral Home in Galva.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bryan Brenchley officiating. Burial will be in Galva Cemetery.
