PINHOOK, Mo. -- Clyde Merriweather, 75, of Pinhook died Friday, June 1, 2001, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
He was born Feb. 13, 1926, in Hickman, Ky., son of Pompie and Essie Mae Merriweather. He and Annie Rean Crider were married Jan. 19, 1949. She died April 26, 1999.
Merriweather was a member of Union Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and treasurer.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include two sons, Herbert Merriweather of Sikeston, Mo., Perry Harris of Cape Girardeau; five daughters, Reatta Campbell, Gloria McCauley, Regina Merriweather and Valerie Lewis of East Prairie, Lisa Boyce of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Vernita Davis of Flint, Mich., Robbie Simmons of Chicago, Emma Rose of Danville, Ill.; 23 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Union Baptist Church, with the Rev. Rea Moore officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery at Charleston, Mo.
Friends may call at the church Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of service.
