Clyde "Lanny" Smith, 72, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, at his home.
He was born Nov. 6, 1943, in Oran, Missouri, to McGoy and Louise Abernathy Smith. He and Anna Schmitt Smith were married Oct. 26, 1962, at Oran.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Smith of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Lana (Chris) Rose of Atoka, Tennessee; two sons, David (Melanie) Smith of Nashville, Tennessee, and Jeffrey (Tammy) Smith of Memphis, Tennessee; a sister, Carolyn Matthews of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Stan Hargis officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
Family requests memorial contributions be made to The Kidney Foundation or Southeast Hospice.
