Clyde Farrow

Clyde Richard Farrow, 68, of Cape Girardeau was called home by his Lord and Savior Monday, March 26, 2007. He was surrounded by his family and friends at his residence, the Missouri Veterans Home.

Farrow was born June 2, 1938, at Neelys Landing, son of Clyde A. and Lena Mae Littleton Farrow.

He was a graduate of Central High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University.

He served as an airman in the U.S. Air Force as a fabric and leather specialist from December 1956 to September 1958. He was sent to Chanute AFB, Ill., for basic training. While on active duty he served overseas at Yokoto AFB in Yokoto, Japan. During his off-duty hours, he voluntarily taught Japanese children to speak English. After his honorable discharge he worked in federal service at Scott AFB, Ill.

He is a lifetime member of VFW Post 3838 and American Legion Post 63.

Survivors include his dear friend, Judy; three children, Michael Price of Jackson, Lisa Thompson of Fruitland, Teresa Harris of Suffolk, Va.; five grandchildren; two brothers, John William "Johnny Bill" Farrow of Neelys Landing, Larry Wayne Farrow of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Sue Busche of Cape Girardeau; six nephews; and six nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald Gene Farrow; two nephews, David Farrow and Ron Farrow; and a niece, Kathy Farrow.

The family wishes to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff of Southeast Missouri Hospital, Southeast Hospice and most of all the Missouri Veterans Home for their love of Clyde displayed through their care and kindness.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in Cape County Memorial Park with full military honors by Missouri Honors Team and VFW Post 3838.
