PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Clyde J. Buerck, 75, of Perryville died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at John Cochran VA Medical Center in St. Louis.
He was born Jan. 20, 1926, at Belgique, Mo., son of Oscar J. and Gertrude Hogard Buerck.
Buerck was a retired residential painter and had been a painter at Gilster-Mary Lee. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, VFW Post 4282, and former member of American Legion Post 133.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include five sons, Michael and Curt Buerck of Perryville, Mark Buerck of Cape Girardeau, Craig Buerck of Altenburg, Mo., Keith Buerck of St. Peters, Mo.; four daughters, Debbie Garris, Kathy Kutz and Denise Schaaf of Perryville, and Deena Allen of Jackson, Mo.
Also surviving are three brothers, Marion Buerck of Perryville, Earl Buerck of Cape Girardeau, Leon Buerck of Cincinnati, Ohio; a sister, Loretta Hoffman of Perryville; a friend, Hester Phillips of Perryville; 24 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. Sunday, and Monday from 6:30-11 a.m. The parish wake will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, followed by the VFW wake at 7:15.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the American Legion.
