CAIRO, Ill. -- Clyde W. Aldred, 63, of Cairo died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born July 5, 1938, at Cairo, son of Carl and Vivian Davault Aldred. He was married to Rosalie Aldred of Cairo. Aldred attended Tigert Memorial United Methodist Church in Cairo and was a member of the Cairo Elks Lodge. He was a former member of the United Auto Workers Union and was retired from General Motors in Detroit, Mich., after 32 years of service...

CAIRO, Ill. -- Clyde W. Aldred, 63, of Cairo died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 5, 1938, at Cairo, son of Carl and Vivian Davault Aldred. He was married to Rosalie Aldred of Cairo.

Aldred attended Tigert Memorial United Methodist Church in Cairo and was a member of the Cairo Elks Lodge. He was a former member of the United Auto Workers Union and was retired from General Motors in Detroit, Mich., after 32 years of service.

Survivors include his wife; five children, Phyllis Crippen of Tupelo, Miss., Jimmy Clyde Aldred of Westland, Mich., Debbie Albert of Milford, Mich., Candace Fisher of Traverse City, Mich., and Wade Aldred of Las Vegas, Nev.; four stepchildren, Cynthia Jean Shackles of Mounds, Ill., Robert Pace Jr. and Emily Pace, both of Cairo, and Bill Pace of Tamms, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms after 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Kelly Cox will officiate with burial in Beechwood Cemetery in Mounds.
