Clyde August Bohnert, 80, 1208 Perry Avenue, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 1994, at his home.
He was born April 23, 1914, at Old Appleton, son of William I. and Rosalia Wucher Bohnert. He and Alfreda C. Miller were married Oct. 15, 1938, in Perryville.
Bohnert was a driver and salesman with Pepsi Cola from 1936-52. From 1952-77 he was employed with Sheet Metal Local 36 at Golightly Heating and Air Conditioning and Cook Heating and Air Conditioning.
He was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church and its Men's Council, Knights of Columbus Council 1111, life member of VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau, and the American Legion Post in Perryville. He served with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS San Pueblo in the Philippine Islands from 1943-45.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, William Bohnert of Cape Girardeau, Ronald Bohnert of Crandall, Ind.; a daughter, Patricia Compas of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Rohland Bohnert of Festus; three sisters, Edna Hotop, Adella Weiss and Rosella Milfelt of Perryville; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son and brother.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-9 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7:30, and KC rosary at 8.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. Jay Gibson officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
