POCAHONTAS -- Clinton A. Reisenbichler, 71, of Pocahontas died Thursday, June 24, 1999, in a tractor-trailer truck accident on Highway 51 in Carlisle County, Ky.
He was born Oct. 18, 1927, at Pocahontas, son of William and Esther Fuehler Reisenbichler. He and Helen Krahn were married Aug. 9, 1953.
Reisenbichler was a truck driver for William F. Braun Milk Hauling Co. of Hecker, Ill. He had also been a driver for the former Litz Brothers Poultry Plant in Jackson, the former Griffaw Furniture Manufacturing in Cape Girardeau, the former Earl Stovall's Jackson Oil Co. in Jackson, and George Wilson Casket Co. in Perryville.
He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church and served on a number of committees. He was a member of American Legion Post 133 in Perryville, and had served on the Pocahontas Town Board.
Reisenbichler served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and while stationed in Japan he guarded those charged with war crimes at Pearl Harbor. He received the World War II Victory Medal and Occupation of Japan Medal.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Clinton "Rocky" Reisenbichler Jr. and Jack Reisenbichler of Jackson; two daughters, Suzanne Gwin of Farmington, Elaina Boehme of New Wells; a brother, Earl "Corky" Reisenbichler of Pocahontas; three sisters, Alice June Landgraf of Jackson, Earline Ascenzo of Phoenix, Ariz., Harriet Drusch of Jackson; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Howard Mueller officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
