PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Clinton "Bud" Kaufmann, 75, of Vero Beach, Fla., formerly of Perryville, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at Jefferson Barracks Medical Center in St. Louis.
He was born June 13, 1932, in Perryville, son of Reinhold E. and Mabel Palisch Kaufmann.
Kaufmann was a professor from 1962 to 1983 at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
He was a 1950 graduate of Perryville High School, attended Southeast Missouri State University and received a bachelor of science degree in business administration at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1957. He received a master's degree in interior design from Florida State University-Tallahassee, and a doctorate in environmental design.
Kaufmann moved to Vero Beach in 1985 and did freelance design work, purchased Orchid Isle Travel and was a partner in Travel Inc.
He served with the U.S. Army in the dental unit at Fort Leonard Wood from 1953 to 1955.
Survivors include a sister, Myrt Frentzel of St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Perryville, with the Rev. Matthew Marks officiating. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 133.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Vero Beach.
