GLEN ALLEN, Mo. -- Clinton Dwayne Barker, 92, of Glen Allen, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021, at Woodland Hills in Marble Hill, Missouri.

Born in Hornersville, Dunklin County, Missouri, on Nov. 11, 1928, he was the son of James Elbert and Bertha Gertrude Goad Barker.

He married Ruth M. Thompson on Nov. 1, 1950. She preceded him in death Nov. 22, 2016.

He and Ruth were the owners of the Barker Grocery Store in Glen Allen from 1966 until 2012. He was also a truck driver for Bollinger Farms in Patton, Missouri, and a member of New Trace Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran, serving on the island of Okinawa.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth (Sheila) Barker of Glen Allen and James (Debra) Barker of Marble Hill; a daughter, Karen (Bill) Perkins of Prineville, Oregon; two brothers, James A. Barker Sr. and Joe Barker, both of Glen Allen; three sisters, Wanda Cooper and Brenda (Bill) Miller, both of Marble Hill, and Linda (Joe) Russell of Glen Allen; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Zachery Barker; great-grandson, Douglas Landers; brother, Donald Barker; sisters, Linda Hebert and Rosemary Barker; sister-in-law, Shirley Barker; and brother-in-law, Bob Valentine.

Visitation and funeral service will be held on Saturday at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until service time. Funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Kenneth Shoemaker officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Barker Family Cemetery near Glen Allen.
