SIKESTON -- Clinen Cox, 89, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center. He was born Dec. 21, 1906, in Norris, Ill., son of Horace Otis and Ollie Bea Finley Cox. He and Zella Mae Davis were married Sept. 28, 1927, in Greenway, Ark. She died March 26, 1991...

SIKESTON -- Clinen Cox, 89, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 21, 1906, in Norris, Ill., son of Horace Otis and Ollie Bea Finley Cox. He and Zella Mae Davis were married Sept. 28, 1927, in Greenway, Ark. She died March 26, 1991.

Cox lived in Piggott, Ark., 20 years, moving to Sikeston six years ago. He was an automotive plant inspector with Landis Manufacturing Co. in Detroit, Mich., retiring in 1972. He was a member of Hopewell General Baptist Church in Greenway, Ark.

Survivors include a son, Garry Cox of Grayling, Mich.; six daughters, Jan Wilson of Marion, Ill., Jeri Dean of Houston, Texas, Lola Doty of Washington, N.C., Virginia Wimberley of Sikeston, Barbara Sackett of Detroit, Carolyn Shaw of Valdosta, Ga.; two brothers, Clemous Cox of Sullivan, Eugene Cox of Coleman, Texas; and 33 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, a sister, and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. Friday.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hopewell Church in Greenway, with the Rev. George Haygood officiating. Burial will be in Piggott Cemetery at Piggot.

Friends may also call at the church Saturday from 11 a.m. to service time.
