DEXTER -- Cline Jerred Owensby, 70, of Dexter, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 1992, at Dexter Memorial Hospital. He was born May 22, 1922, at Oran, son of Tom and Cora Robinson Owensby. He and Mary Catherine Dill were married Jan. 4, 1944. Owensby was employed at General Motors 30 years, moving to Dexter 12 years ago. He was a member of First General Baptist Church here, was a Sunday School teacher, and was active at Dexter Nutrition Center. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II...

DEXTER -- Cline Jerred Owensby, 70, of Dexter, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 1992, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.

He was born May 22, 1922, at Oran, son of Tom and Cora Robinson Owensby. He and Mary Catherine Dill were married Jan. 4, 1944.

Owensby was employed at General Motors 30 years, moving to Dexter 12 years ago. He was a member of First General Baptist Church here, was a Sunday School teacher, and was active at Dexter Nutrition Center. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Clinette Lewis of St. Louis, Deborah Weston of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother, Paul Owensby of St. Louis; a sister, Elizabeth Brown of East Prairie,and four grandsons.

He was preceded in death by a son and brother.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie. The Rev. Clifford Wray will officiate, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
