JONESBORO, Ill. -- Clifton C. Tucker, 86, of Jonesboro died Saturday, May 24, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 22, 1916, at Saratoga, Ill., son of Alva and Emma Wall Tucker. He and Velma G. were married Dec. 10, 1945, in Anna, Ill.

Tucker was a veteran of World War II, a member of Carroll P. Foster Post 3455 VFW in Anna and attended the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in Jonesboro. He worked as a presser at the former Anna Cleaners, was a custodian at the Union County Courthouse and drove a bus for the Jonesboro School District.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Clifton Deon Tucker of Pinckneyville, Ill., and Vernon Tucker of Anna; one daughter, Darla Corzine of Plano, Texas; three sisters, Valerine Thomas and Geneva Elkins, both of Jonesboro, and Eva Anderson of Normal, Ill.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and until service time Tuesday at Lutz & Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Rev. J. R. Galbraith officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
