MARBLE HILL -- Clifton H. Gilmore, 83, of Marble Hill, died Monday, May 31, 1993, at his home. He was born Nov. 25, 1909, at Anniston, son of Cave J. and Minnie Carter Gilmore. He and Alice Barbee were married Jan. 30, 1928. Gilmore was retired from Strickland Freight Co. MARBLE HILL -- Clifton H. Gilmore, 83, of Marble Hill, died Monday, May 31, 1993, at his home.

He was born Nov. 25, 1909, at Anniston, son of Cave J. and Minnie Carter Gilmore. He and Alice Barbee were married Jan. 30, 1928.

Gilmore was retired from Strickland Freight Co. He was a member of United Methodist Church at Anniston, Teamsters Local 600, and VFW Post 2365 at Jennings. He attended Hickory Grove Baptist Church at Clubb.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Peggy Hansen of Leopold; a sister, Mary Anderson of Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Liley Funeral Chapel here. The Revs. Bill Sargent and Richard Green will officiate, with burial in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
