Clifford M. Sullivan, 73, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at Southeast Hospital.
He was born Aug. 15, 1938, to Carl and Lorena Rogers Sullivan. He married Shirley Faulkner on June 21, 1978.
Clifford retired from Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railroad. He was an avid gardener and lover of animals, both strays and rescues.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; two daughters, Deanna Sullivan of Taos, N.M., and Sandy Sullivan of Columbus, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Robbie Ralph of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Kenneth Sullivan of Poplar Bluff and Michael Sullivan of Cape Girardeau; a granddaughter, Whitney Crane of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Leon C. Sullivan of Burfordville and John L. Sullivan of El Cajon, Calif.; a sister, Sarah Russell of Garland, Texas; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his son, Larry C. Sullivan of the St. Louis area, and his parents.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Vincent officiating. Interment will follow in Cape County Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary or the Humane Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
