THEBES, Ill. -- Clifford Carl "Bud" Phillips, 78, of Thebes died Monday, May 1, 2006, at his home.
He was born June 28, 1927, in McClure, Ill., son of William Jesse and Anna Belle Wilson Phillips. He married Ora Mae Bledsoe.
Phillips was a retired farmer and member of the former Mount Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Linda Phillips of Granite City, Ill.; two sons, Terry Phillips of Thebes, Carl Phillips of Jamestown, N.Y.; three stepsons, William "Willie" Culkin of St. Louis, Robert "Robbie" Culkin of Olive Branch, Ill., Clyde Culkin of Colorado; five stepdaughters, Agnes Ghiglione of Mount Zion, Ill., Sara Dunn of Collinsville, Ill., Clara "Clanie" DeLashmutt of Jonesboro, Ill., Brenda Calvert of Miller City, Ill., Donna Ozment of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Bernice Range of Jamestown; two brothers, Ralph and Eddie Phillips of Thebes; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and 14 stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, a brother and a granddaughter.
Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill., from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Kathy Hobbs officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery.
