DONGOLA, Ill. -- Clifford Phalin, 70, of Wetaug, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 1993, at Carbondale Memorial Hospital.

He was born Feb. 20, 1923, at Mill Creek, son of William Jessie and Nellie Eva Powles Phalin. He and Francis Seals were married May 18, 1984.

Survivors include his wife of Dongola; two brothers, Ray and Joe Phalin of Dongola; two sisters, Mary Smith of Valmeyer, LizzieLaCroix of Humble, Texas; three stepdaughters, Patricia Dickerson of Olive Branch, Rose Knotts of Vienna, Patty Marshall of Karnak; two stepsons, Alfred Seals of McClure, and Richard Seals of Grand Chain.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Crain Funeral Chapel here. The Rev. Robert Goins will officiate, with burial in St. John's Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.
