JONESBORO, Ill. -- Clifford A. Rhodes, 95, of Jonesboro died Thursday, July 3, 1997, at the Jonesboro Healthcare Center.
He was born in Alto Pass Jan. 28, 1902, son of Thomas and Dora Smith Rhodes.
He married Hazel Tellor in Jonesboro on Sept. 15, 1923. She died in 1957.
Rhodes was a farmer and timber buyer. He was a member of Fairview First Baptist Church.
Survivors are two sons, Harley G. Rhodes of Anna and Clifford Rhodes Jr. of Fayetteville, N.C.; two daughters, Charlene Bush of Jonesboro and Lillian Crouch of Denver; a sister, Hazel Verble of Jonesboro; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and a granddaughter.
Service will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Hileman & Parr Funeral Services Chapel, with the Rev. Scott Harner officiating. Interment will be in the Alto Pass Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 to 11 a.m. today.
