ADVANCE, Mo. -- Cletus E. Umfleet Sr., 73, of Farmington, Mo., died Thursday, July 27, 2000, at Parkland Health Center in Farmington.
He was born May 7, 1927, in Stoddard County, son of Henry and Irene Gunter Umfleet. He and Ronda Hill were married May 19, 1965, in St. Louis. She died June 21, 1990.
Umfleet retired as a welder with A.O. Smith Corp. in Granite City, Ill.
Survivors include a son, Brian Umfleet of Cedar Hill, Mo.; a daughter, Pamela Chesnek of Ashley, Ill.; a brother, Herman Umfleet of Advance; a sister, Imogene Delay of Advance; six half brothers, Bill Umfleet of St. Louis, Donald Umfleet of Bell City, Mo., Larry Umfleet of Chaffee, Mo., Richard Umfleet of state of Ohio, Michael Umfleet of Monett, Mo., Dennis Umfleet of Granite City; three half sisters, Vicki Phelps of Advance, Sue Umfleet of state of Vermont, Thelma Gavel of Eureka, Mo.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, two brothers, a sister and two half brothers.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 3:30-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Tolbert officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park.
