PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Cletus Albert Meyer, 79, of Perryville died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 19, 1922, at Old Appleton, Mo., son of Hugo and Albertina Buchheit Meyer. He and Anna Theresa Orendac were married May 20,1945, in Trenton, N.J. She died Oct. 7, 1990.
Meyer had worked in the lumber business. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Elks and VFW Post 4282, all in Perryville.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include five sons, Wayne, Mike and Craig Meyer of Perryville, Tim Meyer of San Francisco, Calif., Larry Meyer of St. Louis; two daughters, Patricia Stott of Jasper, Texas, Tina Lozier of Old Appleton, Mo.; three brothers, Urban Meyer of Sarasota, Fla., Thomas and Rupert Meyer of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Theresa Meyer of St. Louis, Sister Frances Meyer of San Francisco, Laverne Hinchey of Wildwood, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and three sisters.
Friends may call at Miller Family Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. today, and 6:30-9:50 a.m. Thursday. The parish wake will be at 7, Elks service at 7:30 and VFW service at 8. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Thursday.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent's Church. The Rev. Kevin P. Fausz will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, with graveside rites by the American Legion.
