Cletus H. "Pete" Winschel, 68, of St. Louis, died Saturday, May 20, 1995, in a St. Louis hospital.
He was born Sept. 14, 1926, in Perryville, son of Andrew G. and Philomena T. Ponder Winschel. He and Ann Bauer were married in 1957 in St. Louis.
Winschel was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of Knights of Columbus 1263 in Perryville, and United Commercial Travelers of America 534 in Cape Girardeau. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Eric and Gary Winschel of St. Louis, Craig Winschel of Oklahoma; a daughter, Gail Tough of Springfield; a brother, Gilbert Winschel of Cape Girardeau; five sisters, Vernica Butler and Shirley Bertani of Cape Girardeau, Rita Richardet and Marie Hayden of Perryville, Loraine Timmerman of New York, and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, brother and sister.
Friends may call at Kutis Funeral Home in St. Louis from 2-9 p.m. today.
Funeral mass will at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. George Catholic Church in St. Louis, with burial in National Jefferson Barracks Cemetery.
