ZALMA -- Funeral service for Cleta Bennett of Zalma will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. The Rev. Naamon Eaker will officiate, with burial in Berrong Cemetery at Gipsy.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
Bennett, 80, died Monday, July 24, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born July 8, 1915, at Gipsy, daughter of Henry and Leona Talley Lemons. She married Willie Bennett Sept. 16, 1933, at Bloomfield. He died April 16, 1986.
Bennett had worked at International Hat Factory in Marble Hill. She was a member of Zalma General Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Norman and Bobby Bennett of Zalma; four daughters, Wilma Moody and Martha Blankenship of Marble Hill, Rachel Borders of Gipsy, Ruth Moit of Zalma; a sister, Eula Summers of Brookport, Ill.; 21 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sons, three daughters, three grandchildren, four brothers and a sister.
