EAST PRAIRIE -- Cleonard Frank "Red" Thurman, 74, of Tucson, Ariz., died Saturday, May 4, 1991, at the VA Medical Center in Tucson.
He was born Oct. 8, 1916, in Anniston, son of Golder and Annie Chambers Thurman. He married the former Roberta Hudson.
Thurman was a retired turck driver and mechanic. He moved to Tucson two years ago from East Prairie. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ronnie Neal of St. Louis, Robert Thurman of Anniston, Charles Thurman of East Prairie; three daughters, Sharon Thurman of East Prairie, Rita Holifield and Karen Libby of Tucson; a brother, Leonard Thurman of Anniston; two sisters, Hattie Calhoun of Anniston, Nadine Neal of St. Louis; 13 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, two sisters and a great-grandchild.
Funeral service is tentatively set at 1 p.m. Thursday at Shelby Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Martin Lucas will officiate, with burial in Anniston Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Wednesday.
