Jewel Cleo Gould, 94, died Thursday, April 5, 2007, at Lakeland Nursing and Rehab Center in Jackson, Miss.
Visitation will be 1 to 2:45 p.m. today at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, Miss., with a 3 p.m. chapel service. Burial will follow in Line Creek Cemetery in Rankin County.
Mrs. Gould was a member of First Baptist Church of Canton, Miss. She retired from the police force in Kosciusko, Miss., was a member of the John Guild Chapter of DAR and MLEOA (Mississippi Law Enforcement Officer Association). She loved to crochet and quilt and especially loved gardening. In addition to caring for her family, she devoted herself to service in her church and community.
Survivors include her children, James Gould and wife Katheryn of Fannin, Miss., Patricia Robins of Cape Girardeau, Don Gould and wife Guyla of Vicksburg, Miss., a sister, Marjorie White of Morton, Miss.; four grandchildren, Anne Cook and husband Ken of Starkville, Miss., Thomas Gould of Canton, Allen Gould and wife Anna of West Chester, Pa., and Dr. Jim Robins and wife Denise of Cape Girardeau; and two great-grandchildren, Melissa and Allison Cook of Starkville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Gould; three sisters, Melba Stegall, Willie Grace Crotwell and Katie Mae Barnes; and a son-in-law, Bob Robins.
