PERRYVILLE -- -- Clement M. "Clem" King, 75, of Perryville died Wednesday, June 2, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 29, 1923, at Puxico, son of James and Myrtle Moseley King. He and Rowena Yeager were married April 7, 1945.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 133. He was a past commander of VFW Post 4282, past VFW district commander, and a past chairman of the American Cancer Society.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1941 to 1945 in the South Pacific aboard the USS Aquarius. He received eight battle stars.
Survivors include his wife of Perryville; a daughter, Nancy Walker of Littleton, Colo.; a son, Terry King of Perryville; a sister, Vona Lohmann of Florida; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and again from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday. American Legion wake will be tonight at 7.
Funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Donald Loesch officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
