Clem Herman Schabbing, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, April 14, 1996, at the Lutheran Home. He was born July 3, 1911, in Cape Girardeau, to Herman and Mary Volz Schabbing. He married Theresa Schrock on May 4, 1937, in Cape Girardeau. Schabbing was a lifelong dairy farmer in Gordonville. Clem Herman Schabbing, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, April 14, 1996, at the Lutheran Home.

He was born July 3, 1911, in Cape Girardeau, to Herman and Mary Volz Schabbing. He married Theresa Schrock on May 4, 1937, in Cape Girardeau.

Schabbing was a lifelong dairy farmer in Gordonville. He was a 4-H leader and was a member of the American Guernsey Cattle Club, the Knights of Columbus and the Farm Bureau. He was a member of the St. Mary's Cathedral Parish.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Charles Schabbing of Cape Girardeau and Dr. Bill Schabbing of Jackson; three sisters, Clara and Dorothy Schabbing, both of Cape Girardeau, and Rose Gregg of Jackson; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel. Parish prayers will be conducted at 7 and a Knights of Columbus rosary will be recited at 7:30.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Cathedral, with Msgr. Richard Rolwing officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
