HERRIN, Ill. -- Clayton E. Kinsey, 73, of Herrin died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Jan. 26, 1929, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, son of Clayton A. and Gertrude A. Hollis Kinsey. He and Eleanor M. Anderson were married June 12, 1952, in Forest Lake, Minn.
Kinsey retired in 1991 as superintendent of the river terminal for Amoco Oil Co. in Cape Girardeau. He then served as pastor at Lake of Egypt Christian Church.
He was a member of First Christian Church in Herrin, Southern Illinois Christian Camp Board and Heartland Evangelistic Association. He was a former member of the Mended Hearts in Cape Girardeau and former member of Cape Girardeau Rotary Club.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Rebecca Anderson of West Columbia, S.C., Debra Armes of New Braunfels, Texas, Laurie Schuh of Murphysboro, Ill., Sharon Filbeck of ChiangMai, Thailand; a son, Russell Kinsey of Corinth, Texas; a brother, Hollis Kinsey of Winnipeg; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
Friends may call at Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home in Herrin from 5 to 9 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Christian Church, with the Revs. Ron Henwood and Wes Wright officiating. Entombment will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy, Ill.
