SIKESTON -- Claude Wesley "Buster" Harper, 65, of Glendale, Ariz., a native of Bertrand, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 1995, at the Boswell Hospital in Sun City, Ariz.

He was born Oct. 9, 1930, in Bertrand, son of Thurman Orville and Florence Hicks Harper.

He retired from the Air Force after 20 years and served in Vietnam. Following retirement from the Air Force, he worked 10 years for Fairfield Toyota in Fairfield, Calif.

He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church and former member of Temple Baptist Church in Fairfield, Calif.

He married Claudia H. Wheetley Oct. 10, 1950. She survives.

Other survivors are his mother, of Sikeston; a son, Dennis Harper of Glendale, Ariz.; daughters, Ginger Parker of Morristown, Tenn., and Karen Boothe of Abilene, Texas; brothers, Russell Harper of Birmingham, Ala., and Howard Harper of Sikeston; sisters, Helen Hillard of Edwarsville, Ill., and Louise Crook of East Alton, Ill.; and four grandchildren.

Service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston with the Rev. Norman Shepard and the Rev. Robert Medlock officiating. Burial will be in Armer Cemetery at Bertrand, with full military rites by the Air Force Honor Guard from Scott Air Force Base in Illinois.

A service was held in Sun City Friday.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Home.
