COBDEN, Ill. -- Claude E. "Dobbin" Braggs, 86, of Cobden, died Wednesday, May 3, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 5, 1908, in Union County, son of Tice and Nila Mae Caraker Braggs. He and Nellie J. King were married Nov. 10, 1929, in Alto Pass. She died July 7, 1989.
Braggs was a retired truck driver.
Survivors include seven daughters, Betty Craig of Carbondale, Margaret Lambert and Treva Acklin of Grand Rapids, Mich., Norma Adams of Makanda, Sharon Jackson of Granite City, Linda Hurley and Brenda Childers of Cobden; two sisters, Maude Gore of Hendersonville, Texas, and Velva Smith of Berrien Springs, Mich.; two brothers, Alvie Braggs of West Frankfort, Lester Braggs of Washington, Ill.; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden after 6 p.m. Friday.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Alto Pass Cemetery.
