CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Claude Edward Curtis, 79, of Chaffee passed away Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 17, 1937, in Conran, Missouri, to the late Robert Sr. and Alice Garrison Curtis. He married Lavetta Fish Hooker on Sept. 28, 1963, and she survives of the home.
Claude was a retired self-employed carpenter. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved to dance. He was a member of Chaffee Elks Lodge No. 1810 and Advance Eagles Aerie 4151. Claude was in the United States Army and stationed in Korea.
He is survived by his soul mate, Lavetta Curtis; a son, Terry (Sherry) Curtis of Chaffee; a daughter, LaTanya (Ed) Sadler of Chaffee; two brothers, Robert (June) Curtis of Dexter, Missouri, and Charley (Jeanne) Curtis of McClure, Illinois; two sisters, Virginia Ash of Puxico, Missouri, and Janeth (Lindy) Moss of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Davis.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Bob Lewis officiating. Burial will be at Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee, with full Military Honors.
