PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Claude R. "Bud" Adams, 84, of Perryville died Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Independence Care Center in Perryville. Bud was born July 16, 1927, at Lithium, Mo., to George H. Adams and Mary Gertrude Valleroy Adams. He married the love of his life, Erika M. Hans, on Aug. 28, 1948, in Berlin. She preceded him in death Oct. 16, 2004...

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Claude R. "Bud" Adams, 84, of Perryville died Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Independence Care Center in Perryville.

Bud was born July 16, 1927, at Lithium, Mo., to George H. Adams and Mary Gertrude Valleroy Adams.

He married the love of his life, Erika M. Hans, on Aug. 28, 1948, in Berlin. She preceded him in death Oct. 16, 2004.

Bud was a World War II U.S. Air Force veteran. He worked in maintenance at Perry County Memorial Hospital for 46 years. He also sold Kirby vacuums in the area for 50 years.

He was a life member of the VFW Post 4282. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville and a third-degree Knight of Columbus.

He is survived by a daughter, Linda K. (Ron) Thieret of Perryville; a son, Karl (Donna) Adams of Perryville; a sister, Wanda Barb Kimsey of Pittsburgh; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-stepgrandchildren.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, a sister and a grandson-in-law.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 8:50 a.m. Tuesday at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. There will be a VFW service at 7 p.m. and parish prayers with the Knights of Columbus at 7:30 p.m. today. The rosary will be recited at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery with military honors courtesy of VFW Post 4282.

Memorials may be made to Southeast Missouri Hospice or the charity of your choice.
