OLMSTED, Ill. -- Claud Edwards, 97, of Olmsted died Tuesday, March 31, 1998, at City Care Center in Anna. He was born April 3, 1900, in Taney County, Mo., son of David and Dora Freeman Edwards. He first married Velma Kenney, who died May 22, 1945. He later married Kathryn Starling in 1952. She died Feb. 7, 1987...

OLMSTED, Ill. -- Claud Edwards, 97, of Olmsted died Tuesday, March 31, 1998, at City Care Center in Anna.

He was born April 3, 1900, in Taney County, Mo., son of David and Dora Freeman Edwards. He first married Velma Kenney, who died May 22, 1945. He later married Kathryn Starling in 1952. She died Feb. 7, 1987.

Edwards was a farmer.

Survivors include two sons, Richard and Frank Edwards of Olmsted; four daughters, Opal Rowley, Irene Sauerbrunn and Betty Bierbaum of Olmsted, Helen Copeland of Dongola; three brothes, Raymond Edwards of Wellsville, Mo., Sidney Edwards of Kansas City, Mo., Edgar Edwards of Port Angeles, Wash.; a sister, Dora Jackson of Cobden; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 5-8 p.m. Friday.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bob Dickerson officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
