EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for Clarence Leo Sherman of East Prairie will be held at 1 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie, Howard Thomure will officiate, with burial in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
Sherman, 83, died Monday, Oct. 14, 1996, at Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston, following an extended illness.
He was born Feb. 19, 1913, in Albert Lea, Minn., son of Stanley and Seenna Jensen Sherman. He and Maxine Anderson were married March 19, 1975.
Sherman was retired from Missouri Pacific Railroad. He moved to East Prairie in 1975 from St. Louis, and attended First Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife; two stepsons, Claude Ward of DeSoto, Peter Ward of East Prairie; a stepdaughter, Linda Davis of Sikeston; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
