OLMSTED, Ill. -- Clarence Eugene Rogers, 61, of Centralia died Wednesday, June 2, 1999, at St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia.
He was born June 7, 1937, in Olmsted, son of Barney W. and Doris Shelton Rogers. He and Karen Pierceall were married July 4, 1957, in Mound City.
Rogers served 20 years in the U.S. Army. He had worked for the Geary Family since 1962. He had lived in Centralia since 1957.
He was a member of First Christian Church, served as head of different departments, and was a past board chairman. He was a former member of the Optimist Club.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Allen Rogers of Naperville; a daughter, Jennifer Paddock of Ladd; his mother of Cairo; three brothers, Kenny Rogers of O'Fallon, Mo., Bill Rogers of Cairo, Jeff Rogers of Fenton, Mo.; a sister, Deloris Morgan of Cairo; and two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Friends may call at Irvin Funeral Home in Centralia from 5-8 p.m. Saturday.
Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Michael Karunas and Elaine Bush will officiate. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday in National Cemtery at Mound City, with military graveside rites.
