Clarence W. Quade, 92, of Jacksonville, Fla., died Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at Community Hospice of Northern Florida in Jacksonville. Clarence W. Quade, 92, of Jacksonville, Fla., died Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at Community Hospice of Northern Florida in Jacksonville.

He was born Aug. 26, 1918, in Jackson, to Jesse and Ida Gerecke Quade. He and Verna Stoops were married July 27, 1940, at Gordonville. She preceded him in death Dec. 19, 1994.

Clarence served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1944 to 1946.

He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and was a prominent farmer at Gordonville. He received an award from the Missouri Conservation Commission on conservation in farming.

Clarence owned and worked at Bluff Electric Works in Poplar Bluff, Mo., from 1952 to 1965. He moved to Jacksonville in September 2010 to live with his daughter.

Survivors include a son, Bill Quade and wife Vickie of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; a daughter, Darlene (Larry) Pruett of Jacksonville; a brother, Clyde Quade of Gordonville; three sisters, Ruby Cook of Cape Girardeau, Betty Brucker of Delta, Patsy Morgan of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Wayne Schwiesow officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau, with full military rites conducted by the Missouri Honor Guard.
