FARMINGTON -- Clarence R. Messmer, 82, of Farmington died Friday, March, 26, 1999, at the Mineral Area Regional Medical Center in Farmington.
He was born Oct. 22, 1916, at Kelso, son of Edward and Clara Martin Messmer.
Messmer was a registered pharmacist. Before his retirement, he was owner and operator of Family Medicate Pharmacy in Park Hills. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Farmington. During World War II, he served in the Army.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Wessell Messmer, a son, Thomas Messmer of Farmington; a daughter, Christine Clayton of Doe Run; a sister, Edvira Rhodes of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, James Messmer of Cape Girardeau and Cletus Messmer of Scott City; and two grandchildren.
Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday at the Cozean Funeral Home in Farmington, with a rosary at 7.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Tom Wissler officiating. Burial will follow at the New Calvary Cemetery in Farmington.
